The materials and manufacture of the containers all conform to appropriate British and International standards. Most types of drums are certified to United Nations standards set for the transportation of hazardous goods.
The Company operates exacting quality systems. Its factories at Chilton and Hull are both approved in accordance with the standard BS EN ISO 9001.
The Company also maintains third party accreditation for the manufacture of 210 litre capacity food grade metal drums.
Containers are externally painted and oven cured for a durable finish. All sizes can be screen printed.
Our paints and powder lacquer finishes comply with environmental legislation to ensure 'heavy metal' content of coatings is less than 100 ppm.
Drums are manufactured at two sites, one in Chilton, County Durham and one in Hull. Both are very near motorways. The Metal Drum Company places great emphasis on its ability to deliver on time to its customers.
